Texas Wheelchair Mission

First Lady and Brother Knights,

Attached is the report of the Wheelchair Mission Donations by Diocese and Council received as of May 31st. Thank you and God bless you to the 225 Councils and 6 Assemblies that have donated to the American Wheelchair Mission this fraternal year. Special thanks to the Councils that held a Wheelchair Sunday, or some other fundraising event, that benefited the Wheelchair Mission. Your incredible donations of $845,927 for 5,639 wheelchairs, extends the new record for the most ever raised by a jurisdiction in a fraternal year. Since it is estimated that each wheelchair delivered changes and improves an average of 10 lives, you will impact the lives of 56,390 people!

The American Wheelchair Mission is the First Lady’s charity this fraternal year. There is only 1 month left in the fraternal year for a Council to participate in this program by donating at least $150 for one wheelchair. What difference does one wheelchair make? To the child that will be able to go to school for the first time, to the adult that will be able to go to work and to the elderly that will be able to get out of a bed, it makes a big difference!

The American Wheelchair Mission must receive your donation by June 30th to count for this fraternal year. Please make checks payable to American Wheelchair Mission and mail them, with the completed attached form, to the address at the bottom of the form. To donate online, please visit amwheelchair.org/donate and in the Campaign field select “Knights of Columbus”and in the Organization/Council field enter your Council Number.

If you have any questions about the Wheelchair Program, need help with a Wheelchair Sunday, or need wheelchairs, please contact me or Assistant Wheelchair Chairman Brian Nelson in San Antonio at abn091951@gmail.com or 210-275-7921.

Blessings,
