Dallas Diocese Chapter, 2023-2024 RSVP Report on Seminarian Support

Worthy Officers, DDs, GKs, FNs, and Brothers (and Rev. Bishops Burns and Kelly and Fathers Mark, Zach, Vincent, Fernando, and Alan):

I am attaching my Final set of RSVP reports for this fraternal year concerning our Diocesan RSVP Program for seminarian support.

1. As a reminder, we upped our Diocesan goal this year, and now aim to provide each of our Diocesan seminarians with at least 3 sponsorships of $500.00 each.   We concluded the year with 52 seminarians in formation for the Dallas Diocese.   Our secondary goal is to get all of these men at least one $500 check by October 1, and a second $500 check by January 31.
2. Well done my Brother Knights!  All of our seminarians have at least 3 sponsors pledged, and all but 2 of our Diocesan seminarians have received at least 3 RSVP checks.  We have 2 men, both at Redemptoris Mater, who have only received 2 checks to date.  I believe at least one of those men either has or will be receiving a check, but I’ve not been able to confirm that.
3. It’s also been a great year for the Diocese. 4 of our seminarians were ordained to the priesthood, and 4 others were ordained to the transitional diaconate.  Please pray for these men!
4. At the moment, I have heard from 43 Councils, 6 Assemblies and 1 Squire Circle.  Those groups have pledged a total of 229.40 sponsorships ($114,700), and already funded 221.40 sponsorships ($110,700).
5. Council 11169 has pledged 3 sponsorships this year, but I’ve not received any confirmation that those sponsorships have been funded.  If they have been, please send me copies of the checks.  If they haven’t been, please get them funded.
6. At this time of year, please direct your attention to the filing of your Form 2863 to claim your refund from Supreme.  Those forms are due by June 30!
7. This is also a good time to think about budgeting for seminarian support for the new fraternal year.  The process of supporting a seminarian is simple:
   1. First, identify the seminarian(s) your Council or Assembly would like to support (and let me know which seminarians you plan to support).
   2. Second, issue checks in the amount of $500.00 to your seminarian(s).  Mail the checks to:

   3. Send me copies of the checks.
   4. Third, once the check has cleared your bank, complete Form 2863 (to which you must attach a copy of the canceled check, front and back) and submit it to Supreme.
   5. Fourth, collect your $100.00 refund for every check you write.
8. The first report attached to this email is the current list of Diocesan seminarians for this fraternal year.  It also shows which Councils/Assemblies supported these men last year, and identifies our 5 new seminarians with the word NEW.   It also includes the seminarians in formation outside of our Diocese that are supported by Councils or Assemblies this year (or were supported last year).
9. The second report attached to this email summarizes how we are doing as a Diocese.
10. The third report attached to this email is organized by District (for Councils), Assemblies and Squire Circles.  If you want to see how your particular District, Council, Assembly or Circle is doing, this is the place to look.  It is also the place to check to be sure that your plans have been communicated to yours truly.
